Had Keats been in Japan, the persimmon would undoubtedly have made it into the Ode to Autumn.

You might be giving everyone the impression that this tree is in your garden - perhaps we need an update on progress of the lemon tree to correct any misunderstandings
I remember there was this scraggly nondescript tree outside of my door in Takayama that I barely noticed until BAM! every autumn it burst forth with these strange orange fruit. I'd never seen a persimmon tree before, don't even recall seeing a persimmon. Then, of course, the trick was to find out what to do with all the persimmons. I tried to make Persimmon Crumble, but that was very tricky because nobody I knew in Takayama had an oven.

The scansion would have been a challenge - well perhaps not to Keats!

My mum has got an oven which she uses (I think) to store clingfilms.
